Summary:
The Facility Maintenance Technicians I performs a variety of routine semi-skilled maintenance for facilities and grounds upkeep, including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.
- Maintains and repairs electrical systems, including handling issues exceeding 120V, in compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.
- Conducts routine inspections of the facility to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Performs preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend the life of building systems.
- Collaborates with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects as needed.
- Responds promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Assists with facility improvement projects, including installing or upgrading systems and infrastructure.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ensures facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.
- Assembles, repairs, maintains and moves furniture, such as desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and related fittings.
- Conducts routine visual inspection of HVAC units, replaces filters and identifies and reports more complex maintenance needs to Manager.
- Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to Manager.
- Performs custodial tasks.
- Cleans oil and water spills around molding machines to keep trip and slip hazards
- Assists with structural pest control measures.
- Monitors facility maintenance inventory and supplies.
- Assists with special events, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED require
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in facility maintenance or a related role.
- Ability to operate all equipment in the department.
- Working knowledge of good hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
- Exposure to machine noise.
- Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production area.
- Working conditions are normal for a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment.
- Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots.
- This role may require walking in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
