Geo-Technology Associates (GTA) is seeking a Payroll & HRIS Specialist to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys payroll but wants more than a traditional payroll position. You'll own payroll operations, support the implementation of our new HRIS/payroll platform, and work closely with HR and Accounting on a variety of projects and process improvements.
As our systems evolve, you'll have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities and develop skills beyond payroll in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
What You'll Do
- Process accurate and timely payroll for 700 employees across multiple states
- Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, benefits, and pay changes
- Reconcile payroll, payroll liabilities, benefits deductions, and related payroll accounts.
- Analyze payroll results, investigate variances, and proactively resolve discrepancies
- Support payroll tax filings, audits, garnishments, and compliance requirements
- While payroll serves as the foundation of this role, you will also support a variety of HR, Accounting, and administrative activities that contribute to the success of the business
- 3 years of payroll experience
- Multi-state payroll experience
- Experience with payroll and HRIS systems such as Paycor, Paycom, ADP, UKG or similar platforms
- Strong Excel and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience reconciling payroll a must, doing the subsequent journal entries is a huge plus.
