Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Packaging Line Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and change overs of packaging and manufacturing equipment for a pharmaceutical production and packaging company in accordance with US-FDA’s Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s).
Additionally, Genus seeks someone who can work independently and in collaboration with the maintenance team members to assist in monitoring building system operations and performance.
Essential Functions:
- Perform maintenance and maintain equipment logs for packaging equipment as required, specifically for pharmaceutical packaging equipment in accordance to US-FDA’s Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s).
- Performs preventative maintenance on packaging/manufacturing equipment and documents according to Good Documentation Practices.
- Complies with all safety regulations and current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Maintenance and repairs of packaging line manufacturing equipment.
- Assist Engineering with new equipment installations and execution of IQ/OQ protocols.
- Locates and diagnoses failure, replaces defective components and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals and verbal and/or written instructions.
- Provides general maintenance support as designated by supervisor for packaging equipment.
- Assists with root cause analysis and the investigation of specification deviations.
- Required to respond to emergency notifications via phone.
- Repair of equipment breakdowns, trouble-shoot equipment malfunctions, Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns.
- Documents work by completing forms, work orders, reports, logs, and records of equipment and batches.
- Maintain and organize on-hand supplies of spare parts for packaging equipment.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by following current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), and standard operating procedures; complying with legal regulations; monitoring environment.
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
- Performs setups/changeovers and monitors packaging operations.
- Experience utilizing detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, SOPs and verbal and/or written instructions when performing required job functions.
- Familiarity with basic maintenance management system, basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Ability to demonstrates strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Performs other duties within their given skillset, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Electrical Preferred.
- Suggested 3 years of packaging or manufacturing machinery experience, troubleshooting & repair within a cGMP environment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Must be self motivated, team player and open to learn new things.
- Experience with PLCs (e.g. Allen Bradley, PLC 5, SLC/500, CompactLogix, RSLogix 5000) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical activities include, but are not limited to, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, puling, lifting, and repetitive motions of the wrist, hands and/or fingers.
- The physical requirements will include exerting up to100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- The employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: machines operation, drill presses, power saws, and perform mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.
- The employee is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the employee to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
- The employee is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
- The employee is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
- The employee is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
