What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-House Counsel position at Genuine Search Group?
Our client is a top real estate investment firm that owns and operates a diversified portfolio of over 100 properties across 10 states. They are currently seeking a Leasing Counsel to join their team in NYC, and be involved with the drafting and negotiating of commercial retail and office leases.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting the leasing department with reviewing and negotiating LOIs
- Reviewing leases for potential acquisitions and estoppel coordination
- Negotiating rent relief agreements and overseeing litigation counsel
- Advising accounting and asset management teams on lease interpretation questions
- Providing legal advice in avoidance of legal disputes involving tenant leases, tenant defaults and other legal matters
- Review loan documents and development agreements as they relate to leasing
- Provide guidance to paralegals and coordinators to process documentation
Qualifications:
- 4 years experience providing legal services in commercial leasing
- JD from accredited law school
- Licensed to practice and in good standing in New York
Salary : $220,000 - $250,000
