The Admissions Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for prospective residents, coordinating tours, admissions, and move-ins.
Admissions Coordinator Pay & Schedule Availability:
- Monday-Friday
- $19.50/hr
- The ideal candidate is willing to work beyond normal working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Admissions Coordinator Qualifications:
- At least two (2) years of experience working in a residential care facility is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently as well as an active member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with other employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- The ideal candidate should be comfortable with information technology such as computers, phones, and other electronic devices used for company business purposes.
Admissions Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Responds to all inquiries regarding potential residency in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
- Follows up with potential admissions by answering questions, addressing concerns, and promoting the HomeStead as a premier residential care facility.
- Develops and nurtures relationships with a diversity of referral sources including hospitals, physician offices, etc.
- Maintains daily census, keeping mailing lists, files, and records updated.
- Calculates and collects initial payment from applicants and prepares refunds for discharging residents.
- Prepares billing documents for submission to the financial office, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Conducts tours, both scheduled and unscheduled (“walk-in”) and maintains spreadsheet of applicant status.
- Coordinates admissions and discharges from the facility, using appropriate forms and policies.
- Communicates forthcoming admissions to facility management team and staff.
- Works cooperatively with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure that rooms are in excellent condition prior to touring a prospective resident as well as prior to admission.
- Ensures a smooth transition for new residents by visiting with them, communicating with resident’s family, and notifying management/staff of any concerns.
- Works cooperatively with the Director of Marketing & Communications to develop a comprehensive marketing plan for the facility.
- Identifies opportunities for positive media exposure (print, television, social media).
- Participates in the planning and coordination of special events, community workshops, and other promotions.
- Maintains confidentiality of resident information, as required by law and facility policy.
