Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression for everyone entering the clinic
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft, while managing calendar updates and patient flow
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims
- Collect payments, handle collections, and manage billing processes with expertise , and dental terminology
- Review patient documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, schedule appointments, handle patient inquiries, and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and dental files while ensuring confidentiality at all times
- Assist with intake procedures for new patients, including data entry and verification of insurance information
- Support clinic operations by coordinating care plans, follow-up appointments, and facilitating communication between patients and clinical staff
- Perform administrative tasks such as typing reports, preparing correspondence, managing office supplies, and supporting office management activities
Skills
- Proven experience in dental front office setting with strong knowledge of clinic workflows and patient service standards
- Proficiency in dental terminology, and familiarity with insurance verification processes
- Experience working with practice management software Eaglesoft
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy and data security
- Ability to review documentation thoroughly for accuracy and completeness in accordance with healthcare regulations
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Previous clinic or healthcare office experience is preferred; dental clinic experience is highly valued
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor that fosters trust and comfort among patients
- Familiarity with health information management practices including filing systems and electronic record keeping
