Your Role
As a Gensler Technical Designer, focusing on commercial interior environments, you will provide design support for completion/execution of design concepts, prepare schematic, design development and construction documentation drawings, resolve design issues, analyze design options, and execute projects through construction administration.
You will be working with the team to complete assignments on schedule and with great quality to meet our clients’ expectations. You will be expected to resolve technical/design issues to maintain progress and quality control and to communicate between the project team and consultants. You will be responsible to meet building codes and all necessary deadlines in order to fully meet client expectations.

What You Will Do
- Collaborate on all phases of a Corporate Workplace oriented interiors projects, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, and design development, construction documentation and construction administration
- Ability to ideate quickly through utilizing computational design tools
- Direct the technical coordination and documentation for construction of the project
- Collaborate with the team during the design, planning and development phases with building technology and code compliance expertise
- Produce drawings and details, which meet various and specific program requirements while also representing an overall design concept
- Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews
- Process submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, etc. during construction
- Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project
- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Architecture or Interior Design, preferably with experience designing corporate interiors projects
- 10 years of professional experience with focus on Architecture or Interior Design
- Licensed Architect OR NCIDQ preferred
- LEED accreditation encouraged
- Experience resolving technical and design issues
- Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Understanding of how buildings are constructed and ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done
- Collaborative and team-conscious
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle challenging situations with tact, grace and style
- Knowledge of California building codes, standards and building structures
- Understanding sustainable and universal design concepts.
- Compensation is based upon experience and estimated range is $100,000– $120,000 annually bonuses benefits
