What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Alarm Inspector position at Genset Services Inc?
The Fire Alarm Systems Inspector is responsible for inspecting and testing fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly and in compliance with fire safety standards and local building codes. Responsible for the completion of service requests at various locations throughout given territory.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Performs regular inspections and tests on fire alarm systems to ensure they are working effectively and meet NFPA standards.
· Coordinates with the local fire department to avoid response to testing.
· Interprets blueprints, diagrams, and specifications related to fire alarm systems.
· Identifies malfunctions, damage, or other issues that could impact the functionality of the fire alarm system.
· Writes detailed reports outlining the results of each inspection, noting any deficiencies or recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
· Coordinates with service technicians for repair and maintenance of fire alarm systems based on inspection findings.
· Stays up to date with the latest fire safety regulations, codes, and standards to ensure accurate inspections.
· Educates clients on fire safety practices and how to operate their fire alarm systems properly.
· Provides excellent customer service, answering client questions and addressing concerns.
· Maintains professional knowledge and skills through ongoing training and professional development activities.
· Maintains accurate records of inspections.
· Stay updated with the latest fire safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
· Complies with all safety regulations and procedures. Wears PPE when required.
· Reports any issues or incidents promptly.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Basic skills using Apple iPad is necessary.
· Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 70
· Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.

· Physical ability to carry and handle heavy materials and tools.
· Exercises care and use of the property and equipment.
· Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to build relationships and interact positively with clients, customers, management, and staff.

· Ability to maintain compliant with local, state, and federal regulations as well as local fire safety regulations and building codes.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Valid driver license and a clean driving record.
· Possession of relevant licenses and certifications, as required by local or state regulations.
· Certification on major manufacture brands preferred, Edwards, Simplex, Notifier, FCI, Siemens.
EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum two years previous experience in fire alarm inspection, installation, electrical installation, or a similar role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to climb ladders, stand for prolong periods, and lift up to 50 pounds.
· Work may be performed outside in high/low temperature.
