Position Summary
The Assistant Controller will support the Corporate Controller in managing GenServe’s day-to-day accounting operations across a multi-location business. This role will be responsible for treasury management, sales and use tax, federal and state tax coordination, account reconciliations, month-end close, payroll accounting, and internal controls.
This position requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and can help build scalable accounting processes and financial discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Close
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy of the general ledger across multiple entities.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and audit support.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage daily cash activity and banking transactions.
- Prepare and maintain weekly cash flow forecasts to support liquidity planning and working capital management.
- Coordinate treasury reporting and lender requests.
Tax & Compliance
- Oversee sales and use tax filings across multiple states.
- Coordinate federal and state tax compliance with external partners.
- Support audits, business licenses, and regulatory filings.
Payroll & Controls
- Review payroll entries and related account reconciliations.
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Support compliance with company policies and DOA requirements.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Support accounting process improvements and workflow standardization.
- Help streamline processes across branches and acquired entities.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Multi-state and multi-location experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
- Strong Excel, analytical, and organizational skills.

Salary : $115,000 - $120,000
