POSITION SUMMARY:
The Carrier Sales Coordinator (CSC) is responsible for the tactical/day-to-day capacity planning, coverage, and tracking of open loads of the assigned team(s) to achieve the team’s budget. This position focuses on providing capacity to meet customers’ service expectations while generating expected levels of profitability for the Team(s) and Genpro.
Responsibilities:
· Develops and maintains an effective Carrier Program that spearheads sales growth, and quality carrier onboarding process, improves spot pricing, and rating knowledge and competencies across assigned geographic areas and freight types.
· Performs daily sourcing activities, including targeting new carriers, negotiating and developing carrier rates, and sourcing and selecting the most efficient carriers.
· Develops and maintains effective Carrier relationships with Genpro Core Carriers to include proper carrier capability profiling
· Leverages applications and TMS to maximize productivity in capacity planning, trip processing, and operational workflow.
· Responsible for spot pricing and term rating opportunities in collaboration with sales and other operating management of Genpro.
· Responsible for tracking all orders; communicates with shippers, carriers, and receivers as needed to confirm the location of carriers, trucks, and loads, as well as verify pickup and delivery times.
· Reports any exceptions to product counts or issues affecting pickup time or delivery to the Account Manager.
· Escalates issues and assists with resolution as appropriate.
· Maintains appropriate communications within the area of responsibility.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’S)
This role will entail daily phone calls/contacts to carriers. An ideal person for this role should be comfortable being on the phone with new and existing carriers.
This position would have a competitive base pay commission package.
