A healthcare organization in Southeast Alaska is seeking a Clinical Assistant 2 to support patient care in a rural ambulatory clinic setting. The role involves assisting providers with clinical and administrative duties while ensuring smooth patient flow and quality care for patients of all ages, from infants to elderly individuals.
The Clinical Assistant 2 is responsible for rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, documenting patient information in electronic medical records, performing point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and assisting with minor procedures and treatments. Additional duties include administering nebulizer treatments, cast removal, diabetic foot screenings, EKGs, wound care, patient education, maintaining exam room cleanliness, stocking medical supplies, and supporting clinic operations.
Candidates should have strong communication, organizational, customer service, and multitasking skills, along with the ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations and work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Current BLS certification
- Clinical competency completion within 3 months of hire
- Minimum 1 year of healthcare-related experience or completion of a Clinical Medical Assistant/CNA/EMT-related program
Preferred Backgrounds Include:
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- CNA, EMT, or healthcare support experience
- Experience with EMR systems and medical terminology
Salary : $60,000 - $83,000
