English Reading and Writing Tutor (Elementary & Middle School Grades)

About Us: GenNext Learning is committed to fostering a love of learning and helping students build strong foundational skills. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Reading and Writing Tutor to support elementary and middle school students in developing their reading and writing abilities. Job Description: As an English Reading and Writing Tutor, you will provide personalized instruction to Elementary and middle school students to enhance their reading comprehension, writing skills, and overall literacy. Your role will involve creating engaging lesson plans, offering constructive feedback, and helping students build confidence in their abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct small group tutoring sessions focused on reading and writing for elementary and middle school students.
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and grade-level standards.
- Teach fundamental skills such as phonics, vocabulary, reading comprehension, sentence structure, and essay writing.
- Provide guidance on organizing and expressing ideas clearly in writing, including crafting coherent paragraphs and stories.
- Assess students' progress regularly and adjust instructional methods to meet their evolving needs.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm.
- Communicate with parents or guardians about student progress, challenges, and ways to support learning at home.
- Utilize a variety of educational resources and tools to enhance learning experiences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, English, Literature, or a related field. Teaching credentials or certifications are a plus.
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students, preferably in a tutoring, School's or teaching capacity.
- Strong understanding of elementary and middle school reading and writing curriculum and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with young students and build rapport.
- Patient, creative, and able to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles
Job Type: Part-time
Job Hours: Monday-Friday (4:30 pm-7:30 pm)
