Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Correctional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide essential nursing care within a correctional facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient assessment, medication administration, and health monitoring, with a commitment to maintaining safety, confidentiality, and quality care standards. As a Correctional LPN, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.

Weekly Gross Pay: $1,608.00

Weekly Taxable Pay: $432.00

Non-taxable Weekly: $1,176.00

Genie Healthcare is currently seeking experienced LPN CORRECTIONS to fill an opening place located in Livermore Milan, NM for $44.66/hr. (Taxed nontaxed)

Requirements of LPN CORRECTIONS:

● Must have AHA BLS.

● Must have a valid state NM License or Compact license.

● Must have at least 2 years of experience as an LPN CORRECTIONS

Responsibilities of LPN CORRECTIONS:

• Shift: - 12 Hours Nights
• 36 hours/week. (3*12)
• 13-week contract
• Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, and oral routes while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA confidentiality policies.
• Provide wound care, catheterization, and sterile processing procedures with precision and aseptic technique.
• Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection, and processing to support accurate clinical assessments.
• Manage acute pain and chronic conditions by implementing appropriate nursing interventions and triage procedures.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records, ensuring compliance with long-term care regulations and ICD coding standards (ICD-9/10).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop discharge plans, coordinate care for individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia, including Alzheimer's and memory care patients.
• Maintain infection control practices and ensure the safety of staff and inmates through proper use of PPE and sterile techniques.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies such as airway management or first aid situations within the correctional environment.
• Support mental health initiatives by providing compassionate care for individuals in behavioral health or psychiatric settings.

Experience

• Valid LPN license with current state certification required; prior correctional healthcare experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation.
• Experience working with diverse populations including geriatric patients, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care.
• Background in acute care settings such as hospital medicine, ICU, emergency room, or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to geriatrics, pediatrics, infectious disease care, and pain management practices.
• Prior experience in long-term care facilities such as skilled nursing facilities or assisted living environments is advantageous.
• Knowledge of ICD-9/10 coding standards for proper documentation and billing processes.
• Ability to perform venipuncture, catheterization, tube feeding management, and other advanced nursing procedures confidently.
