Senior Accounting Manager

Our client, a growing Management Services Organization (MSO) supporting skilled nursing facilities, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead general ledger accounting and financial reporting across a multi-entity client portfolio. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on leader who thrives in complex environments and enjoys building structure, improving processes, and partnering with operations.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll review key deliverables, guide the team, and serve as a senior point of contact for client issues and escalations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting

• Oversee monthly close across multiple entities, ensuring deadlines and accuracy
• Review financial statements before distribution to client leadership
• Approve journal entries and handle more complex accounting as needed
• Provide variance analysis and clear commentary on results

Reconciliations

• Lead balance sheet review process across all client entities
• Ensure key accounts (cash, AR, payroll, intercompany, etc.) are fully supported and resolved
• Track and clear reconciling items with accountability and timeliness

Accounts Payable

• Manage end-to-end AP operations, including approvals and payment execution
• Review weekly payment runs and maintain proper controls
• Handle vendor issues and escalations

Cash & Treasury

• Monitor cash balances and inflows across client accounts
• Determine weekly payment priorities based on available liquidity
• Proactively identify cash gaps and communicate with stakeholders
• Oversee transfers, bank activity, and account controls

Client Engagement

• Act as senior accounting contact for client leadership
• Support onboarding of new clients, including setup and process transition
• Coordinate with auditors and external partners

Team & Operations

• Coach and develop team members while ensuring coverage across responsibilities
• Improve close, reconciliation, and AP processes for efficiency and scalability
• Partner on systems and workflow enhancements
• Help formalize policies and procedures as the business grows

Qualifications

Required

• 4 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting strongly preferred)
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and review processes
• Experience working in multi-entity environments

Preferred

• Healthcare, Senior living, or real estate-related experience
• Background in client-facing or outsourced accounting environments
• Familiarity with tools such as Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or AP automation platforms
