Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with current State of Wisconsin license in good standing.
- Flexible schedule in order to meet the needs of the unit and facility.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations
- Knowledge and efficiency in the care planning process.
- Must possess good communication skills
- Peak organizational skills
- Ability to give direction and delegate duties involving resident care.
- Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills.
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Must be able to physically waist lift a maximum of 30# with frequent waist lifting of objects weighting up to 10#. Must be able to push or pull objects with a maximum effort of 25#.
- Must be able to stand or walk 4-6 hours in an 8-12 work day.
- Must be able to occasionally bend, squat and twist body during a 8-12 hour day.
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and contributes to the attainment of the mission, values, policies and objectives of the Department of Nursing by contributing to a positive and cooperative environment.
- Collaboratively works with the MDS coordinator to support the total care of each resident. This includes but is not limited to resident assessments, observations and care plan completion and documentation of these processes.
- Identifies, supports and coordinates the performance of the team on all three shifts. Members of the team are all inclusive as every department impacts resident care and outcomes.
- Notifies or updates residents, families and physician of health status as appropriate.
- Coordinates and attends care conferences
- Provides for the safety of residents and staff by reporting and documenting all accidents or unusual occurrences
- Provides direct resident care as needed
- Assures staffing patterns meet census needs.
- Promote an environment that fosters staff retention
- Resident care needs are communicated appropriately to other departments to facilitate continuity and smooth interdepartmental functions.
- Safeguards equipment and supplies
- Follows Standards of practice for Registered Nurse
