Job Summary:

The Warehouse Manager oversees the daily operations of the warehouse, including freight, shipping, and receiving, and returns and transfers. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the warehouse team and will provide impeccable customer service to our clients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.
  • Maintains warehouse staff by interviewing, selecting, and training employees.
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Plan, review and recommend staffing on rate changes and participates in the formulation of company policies which affect plant staffing.
  • Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, team-building and problem-solving skills
  • Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Epicor ERP system experience a plus
  • Solid understanding of safe work practices and OSHA.
  • Material handling equipment knowledge and the ability to operate a forklift

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum high school graduate or GED; preferred bachelor’s degree in Business, Warehouse Management, or applicable field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience preferred in a lean manufacturing environment.  
  • Two years of supervisory experience, manufacturing experience a plus
  • Proficient in Logistics; UPS, USPS, FedEx, Truck Freight (pricing, contracts, paperwork)
  • International Shipping and Paperwork

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to stooping, kneeling, bending, and reaching over head
