What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Clinician (PLPC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW) position at Genesis Behavioral Hospital?
Genesis Behavioral Hospital consists of an 18-bed inpatient unit located in Breaux Bridge and outpatient PHP/IOP clinics located in Lafayette, New Iberia, Church Point, and Crowley. We are looking for a full time clinician for our Church Point location.
Responsibilities and Duties
The clinician would be responsible for the following:
- Manage a patient caseload
- Coordinate patient care with treatment team and patient’s support systems
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and group/individual therapy sessions
- Maintain contact with patient family/support systems
- Monitor patient progress in treatment and develop/update individualized care plans
- Participate in treatment team staffing and document patients status/progress
- Perform case management and discharge planning as directed by the treatment team
- Assist in patient supervision and care on facility grounds.
- Completes documentation thoroughly and timely on a daily basis
Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling
- Active professional licensure
- Strong problem solving and group work leadership skills
- Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sound computer skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience working with individuals with chronic mental illness
- Maintain current CPR and CPI trainings
