Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Coder and Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical diagnoses, procedures, and services using current coding standards such as ICD-10, CPT, and DRG. This role involves managing medical billing processes, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintaining precise medical records within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Candidates should have a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding procedures, and medical office operations to support efficient revenue cycle management.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, and DRG classifications.
- Ensure accurate documentation of diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes.
- Prepare and submit claims using EMR/EHR systems while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection processes.
- Maintain detailed and organized medical records in compliance with privacy laws and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation as needed for proper coding.
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, insurance requirements, and healthcare regulations.
- Assist in audits and reviews to ensure coding accuracy and compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical coding and billing within a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding systems, and DRG classifications.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to coding practices.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical office operations, billing procedures, and collection processes.
- Prior experience with medical records management is advantageous.

Pay: $22.63 - $27.26 per hour
