Position Summary
Genesis 7 Transport is seeking EMTs to provide high-quality, professional care and safe medical transportation for patients between hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, dialysis centers, and other healthcare settings. This role involves both non-emergency and urgent care transfers, under the guidelines established by state EMS protocols and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic life support (BLS) and assist in patient monitoring during transport according to the EMT scope of practice.
- Safely operate emergency vehicles in compliance with state laws and company policy.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with dispatchers, healthcare providers, patients, and family members.
- Transport patients between facilities including hospital discharges, specialty appointments, dialysis, imaging, and other scheduled services.
- Complete thorough and accurate electronic patient care reports (ePCR) and required transport documentation.
- Ensure vehicles are properly stocked, clean, fueled, and maintained daily.
- Report equipment usage, malfunctions, or deficiencies to a supervisor immediately.
- Uphold infection control standards, PPE use, and HIPAA regulations.
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and respect during every patient interaction.
- Participate in ongoing training and quality assurance initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Certification: Current Georgia EMT certification (EMT-R, EMT-B, or higher)
- CPR Certification: Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers
- Driver’s License: Valid Georgia driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Experience: Minimum 6 months of EMT experience preferred (not required)
- Other: Must pass background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with interfacility or non-emergency medical transport (NEMT)
- Knowledge of local hospitals, nursing facilities, and EMS service areas
- Familiarity with GPS
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 125 lbs alone or as a team
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, or lifting
- Ability to work under stress in a mobile, unpredictable environment
Work Environment
- Rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
- Exposure to body fluids, infectious diseases, and various weather conditions
- Operate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing priorities
