Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, family, and crisis intervention therapy utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement motivational interviewing techniques to motivate behavioral change and enhance treatment engagement.
- Provide specialized counseling for children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and those requiring special education support.
- Manage clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards, ensuring accurate records of patient care and progress.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive case management strategies for clients with co-occurring disorders or complex mental health needs.
- Facilitate telehealth therapy sessions utilizing secure platforms to expand access to mental health services across diverse settings.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related human services field from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, crisis management, addiction counseling, grief counseling, and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic purposes and CPT coding for billing procedures.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities including autism spectrum disorder and developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of clinical ethical guidelines, medical terminology, mental health assessment tools, and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Telehealth experience preferred; ability to adapt to virtual platforms while maintaining clinical standards.
