Truck and Trailer Sales Representative
Position Summary
The Truck and Trailer Sales Representative – is responsible for generating and managing sales of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment from within the dealership. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, responding to inbound inquiries, proactively developing leads, and supporting the management team with inventory duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound sales inquiries via phone, email, and walk-ins in a timely and professional manner
- Generate new business through outbound calls, follow-ups, and lead nurturing
- Develop and maintain relationships with fleet customers, owner-operators, and commercial accounts
- Provide product knowledge and recommend trucks, trailers, and specifications based on customer needs
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and sales documentation accurately
- Coordinate with inventory, finance, and service departments to ensure smooth transactions
- Track leads, opportunities, and customer interactions in CRM systems
- Stay current on product offerings, pricing, and industry trends
- Follow up on closed and lost sales opportunities to maintain customer engagement
- Assist the Management Team with Inventory Duties
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- 2 years of sales experience (heavy-duty truck, trailer, or commercial equipment experience strongly preferred)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to build rapport and close sales in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of truck and trailer specifications is a plus
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
