Purpose: A Hydraulic Assembler is responsible for building, testing, and inspecting hydraulic systems and components such as pumps, valves, hoses, and cylinders. Success in this role requires a combination of technical, mechanical, and safety-related skills to ensure systems are assembled correctly, operate reliably, and meet required quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Hydraulic Assembly – Ability to assemble hydraulic systems, including bending and fitting hard lines, and following blueprints and bills of materials.
- Hydraulic Pumps – Experience assembling pumps using technical drawings
- Hydraulic Hoses – Skills in connecting hoses and electrical harnesses, running, making, cleaning, and protecting hoses.
- Hydraulic Cylinders – Installing and troubleshooting cylinders, bushings, pipes, and hoses on booms and sticks.
- Blueprint & Schematic Reading – Interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions to ensure correct fit and function.
- Hand Tools – Using screwdrivers, wrenches, and other manual tools during assembly.
- Power Tools – Operating torque wrenches, pneumatic air tools, calibrators, and measuring tapes.
- Measuring Equipment – Ability to use/read precision measuring equipment
- Mechanical Aptitude – Understanding mechanical systems and fluid dynamics
- Attention to Detail – Ensuring quality control and correct installation
- Safety Protocols – Follow procedures, operate tools and equipment safely, and maintain hazard-free work area
- Troubleshooting – Identifying and resolving assembly issues
- Teamwork & Communication – Collaborating with engineers and other technicians and reporting issues effectively
- Problem-Solving – Adapting to challenges and learning new technologies
- Time Management – Meeting deadlines while maintaining quality Aggressive Hydraulics.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in mechanical assembly or manufacturing is preferred.
- Machine shop experience is a plus
