The Production Manager is charged with the responsibility of expertly executing strategic plans by managing and aligning supervisors and production resources to achieve safety, quality, and production goals.
This job description is intended to be an overview of primary responsibilities for this position. All employees are charged with providing assistance in generally similar duties when management deems it necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborating with the Scheduling, Logistics, suppliers and supervisors to increase throughput
- Planning, designing and executing production systems and process improvements
- Stepping into supervisory role during temporary absences of critical supervisory staff
- Communicating production hurdles to Plant Manager with sound well planned solutions
- Communicating important tactical decisions constructively
- Managing expedited orders effectively
- Allotting time for preventative maintenance schedules
- Participating in non-conformance issues as requested and solving for root causes.
- Collaborating and process mapping to identify inputs, sub-processes, outputs and outcomes that have the greatest opportunity for reducing waste and improving predictability.
- Mentoring and teaching project management to future leaders
Education
- Lean manufacturing for the job shop certification (preferred)
S Supervisor certification (preferred)

Experience
Minimum of 5 years of supervising experience preferred
Required working knowledge of:
- Blueprint Reading with welding symbols
- Material forming principles
