Job Description
Laborers assist field teams with site preparation, material handling, cleanup, and various construction tasks related to the installation of industrial refrigeration projects. This role involves physical labor, basic mechanical skills, and adherence to safety protocols.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of refrigeration systems, components, and piping.
- Transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Clean and maintain work areas and tools.
- Perform basic tasks such as measuring, cutting pipe, and assembling parts.
- Follow safety guidelines and report hazards or incidents.
Qualifications and Required Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in refrigeration, HVAC, or general labor.
- Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy items, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the trade.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability to travel overnight to customers and jobsites in the eastern United States as needed.
- Position requires pre-employment drug screening, criminal background screening, and driving record check. Must have a valid driver’s license and be capable of driving for up to 10 hours.
- Availability to travel for overnight stays up to 20% of the time to customers in the eastern United States as needed.
- Weekend availability is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Handle exposure to a variety of weather conditions and environments, loud noises, and potentially hazardous materials.
- Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials.
- This position requires: stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to work at heights and climb ladders for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
