General Propeller, an established marine propeller and boating solutions business in Bradenton, Florida, is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support company leadership and work closely with the Controller. You’ll help keep the office running smoothly while providing accounting support and helping maintain accurate financial records.
What You’ll Do
- Support leadership with scheduling, meeting coordination, correspondence and follow up
- Maintain office records, coordinate supplies and track outstanding tasks
- Answer incoming calls, take accurate messages and direct customer inquiries
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoices and supporting records
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies and assist with month end close
- Prepare journal entries and accruals under the Controller’s guidance
- Use Sage 100 and Excel to maintain and review financial information
What We’re Looking For
- Degree, diploma or certificate in Accounting
- Understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits, journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, along with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Strong organization, attention to detail and follow through
- Clear, professional communication and sound judgment
- Willingness to learn, take initiative and ask questions when guidance is needed
- Availability to work onsite in Bradenton five days per week
Experience That Would Be A Plus
- Familiarity with Sage 100 or another accounting or ERP system
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution or the marine industry
