Summary/Objective
Loading and unloading vehicles off rail cars.
Essential Functions
- Remove rail chalks from tires.
- Inspecting vehicles for damages
- Drive vehicles onto or off rail cars.
- Drive vehicles to specific locations.
- Lifting and laying bridge plates
- Working in very tight spaces between rail cars and vehicles climbing up/down and in/out of rail cars.

- Ability to operate a vehicle.

- Ability to climb and do heavy lifting
- Ability to follow strict damage prevention procedures
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct reports.
Work Environment
Outdoors exposed to changing and/or extreme weather conditions (for instance, rain, sun, snow, wind, humidity, etc.).
Physical Demands
Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily production/technical nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily 8 hours each day, five days a week. This position often requires overtime.
Travel
This position does not have any travel requirements.
Required Education and Experience
No prior education or training.
Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer operations
Basic personal computer skills.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain eRailSafe certification.
