Who You Are
As a Technology Commercialization Manager, you will be tasked with leading all aspects of the licensing, contract management and royalty reporting. You will lead the negotiations of complex deals with other parties, including Non-disclosure Agreements, Evaluation Agreements, Co-Development, Licensing and other Agreements necessary to achieve the business objectives. We need your leadership skills in the development of Intellectual Properties (IP) strategies and commercialization to maximize the value creation for GM technologies. Your role will include identifying and cataloging IP for potential licensing, identifying potential partners, developing business cases and preparing and delivering marketing packages to promote licensing. Some additional activities include but are not limited to Competitive IP due diligence, deal formation and negotiation, and business planning for both R&D start up projects and key technologies. Enable GM to license their IP, and enable global GM to commercialize new innovative technologies

Improve General Motors value proposition for all technology / intellectual property (IP) assets managed

Lead every aspect of third party royalty licensing transaction process (i.e. Support Patent Review Boards and Record of Invention Evaluations for commercial potential, licensing terms/negotiations, etc.) for commercialization potential

Post deal management (royalty reports, agreement management, relationship management, etc.)

Establish clear business objectives for partnering with the identified Party

Provide general business / agreement / IP support as needed to R&D
- Maintain and develop relationships to facilitate communications across GM
Additional Job Description
What You Need

Bachelor's in a technical field, such as Science or Engineering

5-7 years experience in business environment with direct exposure to IP/licensing

Understanding of general automotive technology as well as technologies of interest in other industries

Understanding of licensing, Intellectual Property and confidentiality

Understanding of basic finance

Proven licensing capabilities with strong negotiation skills

Ability to develop a business case and strategies to advance IP towards a commercial product

Risk management, and ability to handle ambiguity

High level of analytic / business evaluation ability with difficult and unusual problems

Demonstrated ability in using Microsoft Office software

Next-level sociability in a business environment

Demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects in different technology areas in a professional and time sensitive manner
