Job Title: Extrusion Supervisor (Press Team)
Role Summary
We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven Extrusion Supervisor to lead our Press Team operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the press department, from personnel development and safety compliance to production planning and quality auditing. You will serve as a vital link between plant leadership and the production floor, driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and mentor a diverse team, including Apprentices, Operators, and General Foremen. Manage the full employee lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraising, and conflict resolution.
- Production Planning: Strategize and execute production schedules to ensure the Press Team meets all output targets efficiently.
- Quality & Process Control: Monitor and audit quality control measures. Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements that optimize both efficiency and product quality.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with maintenance and engineering departments to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and overall plant operations.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and 5S standards. Proactively identify hazards, report equipment issues, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Documentation & Reporting: Review and verify the accuracy of production reports, work orders, and job specifications. Present regular data updates on team performance and quality metrics to plant management.
- Culture & Communication: Maintain open, transparent lines of communication with both leadership and direct reports. Foster a motivated, positive team culture.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in an extrusion or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Leadership: Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s degree (preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic computer applications and data analysis.
- Soft Skills: Proven ability to multitask, think critically, and solve complex problems under pressure.
- Compliance: Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of this role.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods and perform duties as needed to support the team.
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
