What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe Layer/Laborer position at GENERAL EXCAVATION INC?
Responsibilities:
- Perform various tasks related to pipeline installation and maintenance
- Dig trenches and excavate areas for pipeline placement
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine pipe placement and alignment
- Locate underground utilities to avoid interference with pipeline installation
- Place pipes together to create a secure connection
- Use a pipe laser to ensure proper alignment during installation
- Assist with concrete finishing around pipeline structures
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a pipelayer or in a similar role is preferred
- Ability to read and understand blueprints for pipe placement
- Knowledge of utility locating techniques to avoid damage to existing infrastructure
- Experience with pipe connection methods
- Understanding of concrete finishing techniques for pipeline structures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
