The likely salary range for this position is $144,500 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

At GDIT, we foster a people-focused and customer-centric environment in delivering Desktop Engineering Services. As a VMware Engineer supporting the Government, you will be responsible for physical/virtual platforms, server build deployments, server virtualization, hyperconverged platforms, etc.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Designs and builds virtual environment service models including Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service.
- Identifies, designs, and implements process improvements for the virtualization of and distribution of applications: automating manual processes, optimizing delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability
- Designs, implements, and maintains VMWare vSphere virtualization infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and vSAN
- Analyzes user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
- Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
- Develops system architecture and system design documentation
- Interacts with the Government regarding technical considerations and regarding associated problems, issues, or conflicts
- Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility
What you'll need:
- Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI poly
- Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA , or CCNA Security
- Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline 6 years' experience or the equivalent combination of education, technical certification or training, or work/military experience
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM
- Proficiency in configuring and optimizing virtual machines, storage, and networking
- Knowledge with configuration of virtual switches and VLANs
- VMware Certified Professional certification required
- Ability to learn new virtualization technologies
