This position is for EB D707 Ships Certification Representative. This position is by delegated authority by the director of Submarine Safety, Deep Submergence Systems, Fly-By-Wire Ship Control Systems and Quality Assurance (QA). This position supports the Quality Management System and SEP Programs (SUBSAFE, DSS-SOC and FDW SCS). Assignments include SEP technical support; special investigations; problem resolution; interface with planning and work execution; support and documentation of work, QAI Support and certifications for ship. The successful candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and a working knowledge of Electric Boat’s material handling processes, material control standards, work execution methods and SEP technical requirements, and documentation requirements (QA Forms). Candidates must possess a working knowledge of Re-entry Control, Task Group Instructions (TGI), ESD Protection, Qualifications to perform SEP work, Welding & NDT inspections. Candidate must be willing to work all shifts, extended travel and overtime as required.
Additionally, this candidate may:
- Assist in review, modification and implementation of quality procedures
- Perform surveillances, including focused ESD as directed by the ESD steering committee
- Provide oversight of QA Records/Test Records operation
- Be a go to person to assist trades in completion of SEP QA Forms (UIPI 0900-002)
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1 Years shipyard QA experience.
- 5 years’ experience in Overhaul and Repair / Post Delivery work or equivalent submarine experience
- Experience with Ships Drawings, SSPs, SPs, MDDs, Technical Manuals, Welding Technique Sheets, DIs and SI’s
- Proficient in the use of the SPARS Database
Preferred:
- Proficiency as competent person assigned as QAI per MDD-00529
- Computer Skills, Word, Power Point, Cornerstone Training Records.
- Ability to interact with various levels of subcontractors and EB employees in the organizations
- Ability to interact with various levels of NAVSEA, SSGR and shipyard personnel
