The VP – Power Solutions is responsible for driving profitable growth with the existing customer base and expanding new business and strategic accounts for Generac Industrial Energy. Responsible for application engineering and overall planning, project management, and delivery execution of Data Center projects. Evaluates market trends and competitive information to manage the sales and delivery strategy and ensure the future growth and profitability of the businesses. Hires, directs and develops resources focused on key strategic measures to promote the data center growth initiatives. Establishes decision making across the team and leads and develops cross-functionally.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
60% PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, PROJECT MANAGEMENT, APP ENGINEERING AND PRODUCT DELIVERY
Together with the SVP & GM – Data Centers, Develop, implement and manage the Power Solutions and Delivery strategy and organization.
Create 3-year strategic plans with clear / measurable KPI’s and milestones.
Plan and execute strategy around business objectives, participate in corporate decision-making and long-range planning activities including establishing and monitoring budget for products. Heavy focus on customer experience and project delivery and execution
Target and effectively penetrate vertical markets and sales channels for assigned products.
Partner with product management to recommend appropriate expansion of current products, development of new products, and elimination of unprofitable products using voice of customer data.
20% LEADING THE BUSINESS
Continue aligning department targets with overall business strategy. Monitor and manage expenditures and investments
Maintain membership and active involvement in related industry trade and professional organizations for the benefit of the company and the employee. Attend industry trade shows and conferences to develop and maintain customer relationships, expand business relationship and to conduct sales and marketing activities.
Prepare and present (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) executive management reports to summarize activities related to his area of responsibility
Continuously monitor and evaluate the competitive environment and activities of competing organizations in the market.
20% PEOPLE LEADERSHIP
Effectively build, lead, retain, organize and deploy a fully engaged workforce and ensure the allocation of resources that maximizes growth opportunities.
Create effective org structures and capabilities that can effectively improve the customer experience, support the products, execute product delivery and focus on quality functions that have efficient operations that can be leveraged globally.
Influence numerous corporate functions to gain support across the enterprise for assigned initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Engineering Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Minimum of 15 years of domestic management leadership experience in data center market segment with progressively increasing responsibilities.
Minimum of 10 years of experience using financial analytics and metrics to measure success of business, and create accurate forecast
Minimum 5 years of experience leading execution of Data Center projects from engineering design to delivery
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in business or related field
3 years’ work experience in power generation and/or engine powered equipment
3 years’ acquisition due diligence and integration experience or exposure
5 years’ experience delivering large scale projects to Data Center Hyperscalers and large Colocation companies
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to create strategy and execute on the strategy with equal skill, with a focus on strong results orientation.
Ability to use written and verbal communication to ensure the effective, efficient, and timely flow of relevant information and market intelligence to/from sales, manufacturing, technology, service, and leadership for product line success.
Ability to coach, lead, mentor and develop assigned staff to achieve business objectives and support individual employee development.
Knowledge in how to operate effectively in matrix organization with a mix of direct and indirect responsibilities for business group resources including: Sales, service, product management, marketing, operations, HR, and finance resources.
Ability to influence strategic decisions related to acquisition targets and strategies for the Industrial North American business and Globally.
Builder of good relationships internally and with customers.
