Molecular Laboratory Technician

About Us:

• GeneID is a high complexity molecular Next Generation Sequencing laboratory providing a variety of molecular testing. The laboratory technologist under the direction of the supervisors will be responsible for day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities:

• Follows laboratory established procedures and performs a variety of molecular procedures including but not limited to DNA quantification, Library preparation, Real time PCR, and Sanger sequencing.
• Assist in all phases of technical laboratory services
• Maintains records per SOPs
• Participate in the Proficiency Testing Program and inspections, as assigned.
• Learn and perform sample preparation for high complexity testing
• Prepare samples and reagents for testing according to laboratory policies
• Familiarity with high through-put platforms and common molecular laboratory equipment (pipettes, thermocyclers, liquid handlers, etc.).
• Experience with ensuring and maintaining integrity and quality of the lab (sample processing, equipment, SOPs).
• Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Power Point.
• Well organized.
• Adhere to laboratory’s quality control and safety policies.
• Excellent communication skills

Minimum qualifications:

• Experience with PCR and PGx technologies, including hands-on laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of molecular biology techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
• Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Part-time to Full-time , M-F

Salary: $26-$30 per hour
