Duties and Responsibilities:
- Quantify the components of a project by utilizing available take off tools (Agtek)
- Visit the project sites to understand site conditions/restrictions and attend pre-bid meetings
- Read project plans, specifications and interpret project scope of work
- Work closely with Estimating Team. Bid projects to build estimate and price assigned items of work
- Solicit and coordinate scope of work with subcontractors and suppliers in a timely manner
- Communicate with General Contractors to understand their needs and specific scope
- Bid projects of all types to include private, negotiated, municipal, state and federal.
- Develop preliminary construction schedules based on the project information provided in the plans and specifications
- Work with the Estimating Team and/or Management to close any bids
- Build estimates from scratch using internal bidding software (HCSS, HeavyJob)
- Research pricing for estimates based on historical company cost
- Secure bid bonds
- Partner with Project Management and Accounting Departments to establish preliminary budgets
- Perform job duties in line with the values of Gendron & Gendron
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should be able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
Math Ability: Being able to work with concepts such as probability and statistical interference along with the fundamentals of plane and an understanding of geometry and trigonometry is a plus.
Reasoning Ability: Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
