Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner with an interest or background in Functional Medicine to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate values holistic, root-cause care and enjoys building meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and functional medicine–style intakes
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating lifestyle, nutrition, supplements, and medications when appropriate
- Manage chronic conditions such as hormonal imbalances, autoimmune disorders, GI issues, metabolic conditions, and fatigue
- Order and interpret conventional and functional lab testing
- Educate and coach patients on lifestyle modifications and preventive care
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff per state regulations
- Stay current with functional and integrative medicine best practices
Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Missouri
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- National NP certification (ANCC or AANP)
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Strong interest in functional, integrative, or lifestyle medicine
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Training or certification in Functional Medicine (IFM, A4M, or similar)
- Training or certification in male and female hormone therapy
- Experience with nutritional counseling, supplements, or lifestyle medicine
- Familiarity with specialty lab testing
- Experience in primary care, integrative medicine, or wellness practice
