Refrigeration Superintendent

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Refrigeration Superintendent to lead our refrigeration and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) construction projects. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of complex refrigeration systems within large-scale commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage diverse teams, implement innovative construction management practices, and uphold rigorous safety regulations across multiple projects.

Duties

• Lead and supervise all phases of refrigeration system installation, repair, and maintenance on construction sites.
• Coordinate construction schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management software to ensure timely project delivery.
• Review technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to interpret design intent and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Manage subcontractors and in-house crews by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring safety protocols are followed in accordance with OSHA and federal safety regulations.
• Oversee quality control processes, including conducting inspections with tools such as ohmmeters to verify electrical connections and system integrity.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets, manage costs, and track project performance using construction management software like ProCore or Prolog.
• Ensure adherence to construction regulations related to commercial refrigeration systems and construction site safety standards.
• Facilitate communication among stakeholders by managing contracts, reviewing construction drawings, and coordinating project scheduling efforts.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing refrigeration or HVAC construction projects within commercial or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Primavera P3, HeavyBid, and Prolog.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics accurately.
• Extensive understanding of construction regulations such as OSHA standards and federal safety protocols related to heavy machinery and electrical systems.
• Skilled in supervising teams on-site while maintaining a focus on safety, quality control, and efficiency.
• Excellent managerial communication skills with experience managing crews in a construction management role.
• Familiarity with pipeline installation processes within refrigeration systems is a plus.
• Ability to coordinate construction schedules effectively through construction scheduling techniques.
• Strong background in budgeting, project scheduling, contract review, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Construction site experience with an emphasis on safety management practices for large-scale projects.
