Position Description
Gemspring is currently seeking 2-3 Vice President's with experience and/or interest in Consumer, Healthcare, or Industrial Servicves to join the firm's investment team. This is an opportunity to join an entrepreneurial team of professionals with an impressive blend of financial and operational experience. The majority of Gemspring's Vice Presidents have successfully ascended the ranks without attending business school. The investment team is supported by six Business Development Professionals and a strong operational support team.
Vice Presidents serve as deal leads and play a central role across all aspects of the private equity investment lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluating new opportunities through closing and active portfolio management. VPs are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, drive process from start to finish, and serve as a key point of continuity between the investment team and portfolio company management teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end deal execution, including financial modeling, valuation, diligence coordination, and IC presentation preparation
- Drive proprietary sourcing efforts through direct outreach to management teams, intermediaries, and industry contacts
- Own market research, competitive analysis, and qualitative investment theses across target sectors
- Manage internal, company, and third-party stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient deal processes
- Mentor and develop junior team members, including Associates and Senior Associates
- Maintain close partnership with portfolio company management teams and internal operating partners to drive financial and operational improvements and execute add-on acquisitions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required; MBA not required
- At least 3–5 years of private equity experience, with prior investment banking or management consulting experience at a bulge bracket or top-tier firm
- Demonstrated ability to lead deal processes with limited oversight, from initial evaluation through close
- Advanced financial modeling proficiency, deep valuation fluency, and strong command of deal mechanics and structuring
- Highly motivated, creative thinker who operates effectively under tight timelines and across multiple workstreams
- Exceptional communicator — clear and concise verbally and in writing, with the presence to engage credibly with C-suite executives, bankers, lawyers, and other senior stakeholders
- Proven track record of managing complex processes in an organized, solutions-oriented manner
