Position: Staff Nurse /Substance Abuse Unit (LPN or RN)
Regional Health Systems is Northwest Indiana’s largest provider of community-based mental health care, primary health care and addiction treatment services. We offer adults and children—both uninsured and insured—integrated care through our community mental health center and federally qualified health center. Position Purpose:
The purpose of the Staff Nurse is to provide Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice by interventions which are directed toward: health promotion and health maintenance; assessment and evaluation of dysfunction in order to provide assistance in regaining coping abilities and prevent further disability; provide a therapeutic milieu; administer and monitoring pharmacologic treatment; and health teaching, crisis intervention, counseling and discharge planning.

- Mantoux Testing
- Emergency Intervention
- Medication Administration
- Clinical Documentation
- Other duties as assigned
· Supervision/delegation:
· RN: This position may be called upon to orient and train others, and act in a “charge” capacity. May assign and review work of those performing essentially the same or related functions. The incumbent may occasionally be requested to provide input into decisions regarding hire, discipline, evaluation and termination of peers.
· LPN: May be responsible for the clinical supervisionand direction of QMAs and CNAs.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate degree in nursing
- Experience: 1 year of experience preferred, but not required
- Additional Information: This position requires a valid LPN or RN license in the State of Indiana
Shift: Full- Time, Non-Exempt; 38 hours a week: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm
