GEMCO Constructors, LLC, headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, is a mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems and service contractor providing comprehensive design and build solutions for its customers throughout the United States.
Position Summary
The Safety Administrator provides general data entry, clerical, filing and scanning to support the Safety Department. Use of MS Office programs, copying/scanning machine, and computer skills are needed. This position will also manage our New Hire Orientation process and ensure appropriate training is assigned and completed. The successful candidate should have attention to detail and an outgoing personality as they must be able to interact with personnel at all levels of the company.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Answers and responds to inquiries made in person, over the phone, and via email
- General office clerical duties, such as copying, scanning, emailing, and filing
- Organizes and maintains paper and electronic files
- Assists Safety Coordinator’s in their duties
- Manage new hires and the orientation process by determining training levels and assigning the correct training based upon results
- Write Site Specific Safety Plans and Crane/Helicopter Lift Plans
- Ship PPE/Uniforms to our traveling workforce

Requirements
- Minimum Education: HS Diploma/GED
- Experience Minimum: 1–2 years of administrative support experience in construction safety, environmental health & safety (EHS), or a related field preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain immediately
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Publisher) and any function specific software or equipment (mobile phones, computers, tablets)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
