Essential Job Functions
- Drywall Installation: Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to walls, ceilings, and other structures.
- Repairs & Patching: Fix cracks, holes, and damaged drywall surfaces, ensuring a smooth and seamless finish.
- Taping & Mudding: Apply joint compound, tape seams, and smooth out surfaces for a clean finish.
- Sanding & Finishing: Sand down dried mud and compound to achieve a flawless surface ready for painting or finishing.
- General Handyman Duties: Assist with other tasks as needed, including painting, light carpentry, basic electrical or plumbing work, and general home repairs.
- Quality Control: Ensure all work meets company and safety standards, with attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship.
- Clean-Up: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, removing debris and tools from job sites.
- General warehouse cleaning/maintenance
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proven experience as a drywall installer or construction handyman.
- Proficient in drywall installation, repair, finishing, and patching techniques.
- Knowledge of basic construction tools and equipment (e.g., power tools, hand tools, scaffolding, ladders).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass background checks and comply with safety regulations.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 -2 years of experience with drywall and construction
- Experience in other trades such as carpentry, electrical, or plumbing.
- Previous work in residential, commercial, or renovation projects.
- OSHA Certificate preferred, but not required.
- Current forklift license preferred, but not required.
Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
- Will work both indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold to very hot and humid.
- Evening and/or early morning, and/or weekend hours periodically
