Medical Receptionist – Experienced Only
GEM Neurology PLLC – Clinton, TN
Pay: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour
GEM Neurology PLLC is seeking a reliable and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our private neurology clinic.
IMPORTANT:
Applicants must have prior experience working as a receptionist in a medical or dental practice. Applications without this experience will not be considered. This is a solo physician private practice, which typically results in a more manageable workflow compared with large multi-provider clinics or hospitals.
Schedule:
Tuesday – Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Unpaid Lunch Break: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Days Off: Monday, Saturday, Sunday. Additional hours may be available if desired, but they are not required. The employee must be able to consistently and reliably commit to this schedule.
Responsibilities:
Greeting patients and caregivers professionally.
- Checking patients in and out
- Collecting insurance information and co-payments
- Scheduling appointments and managing phone and email inquiries
- Verifying and updating patient demographic, insurance, and pharmacy information
- Requesting, receiving, scanning, and organizing electronic medical records using AdvancedMD
- Faxing and transmitting documents
- Routing tasks through the EMR system
Compensation:
Hourly pay increases based on tenure:
- $19.00/hour starting rate
- $20.00/hour after four (4) months of employment
- $21.00/hour after one (1) year of employment
- $22.00/hour after two (2) years of employment
Bonuses:
An annual performance-based bonus may be awarded after completion of one (1) year of employment.
Bonuses are:
- Not guaranteed
- Not wages
- Determined solely at the employer’s discretion based on performance, attendance, professionalism, and business conditions
Benefits:
- 12 days (96 hours) of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year, accrued per pay period
- 2 paid sick days per calendar year
- 6 paid holidays

Requirements:
- Prior experience as a receptionist in a medical or dental office (required)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a clinical environment
- Professional and respectful interaction with patients and coworkers
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with electronic medical records
- Professional references may be requested during the hiring process
