Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment using aseptic techniques, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and preparing treatment rooms.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging), including intraoral and extraoral images, ensuring proper safety measures are followed.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or special care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory, sterilization area, and supply inventory to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and assisting with dental reception duties when needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting or as a dental assistant is a must.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide compassionate patient care.
- Certification in dental assisting, dental sterilization tech or equivelent experience is a must.
