Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Surgical Scheduler to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with surgery scheduling and coordination of care within an office setting. This role is critical in supporting our mission to provide top-quality healthcare services. Our practice currently consists of two hand surgeons with an intent for future growth of the practice. Key Responsibilities:
- Contacts patients to schedule surgeries over the phone or in person
- Obtains patient demographics and insurance information
- Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-authorizations
- Assists with scheduling preoperative tests and consultations
- Communicates preoperative instructions and expectations
- Manages physicians operative schedules
- Maintains accurate patient medical records and medical documentation
- Helps to maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations including HIPPA and OSHA.
