  You don’t need prior register training or retail/hardware experience—what matters most is a love of helping people and a great attitude. However, if you’ve worked in retail or hardware or have previous register experience, that background will help you hit the ground running.

What You’ll Do

• Operate the cash register: scan items, process cash/credit/check payments, and handle returns/exchanges efficiently and accurately.
• Greet every customer with a smile, listen to their questions, and help direct them to the proper area or help when possible.
• Bag merchandise and help customers load purchases into carts or vehicles as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and visual order of the checkout and impulse areas.
• Occasionally rotate into merchandising shifts: restock shelves, straighten displays, and helping with other tasks throughout the store.

• You genuinely enjoy talking with people and finding practical solutions to their questions or problems.
• You pick up new information quickly, ask questions when unsure, and aren’t afraid to make small mistakes as you learn.
• You work well with others—helping out across departments without waiting to be asked.
• You’re reliable, consistently showing up for your scheduled daily shifts.
• You can lift up to 50 lbs. safely and remain on your feet for most of an eight-hour shift.
