- Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines.
- Exhibit knowledge of adequate and correct collection requirements.
- Perform accessioning procedures appropriately and accurately to ensure positive identification of the specimens.
- Recognize and resolve discrepancies as appropriate.
- Evaluate specimen suitability and acceptability.
- Resolve or refer problems as appropriate.
- Perform testing and record Point of Care instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control as assigned.
- Handle and replenish reagents and supplies according to established protocols as assigned.
- Follow established reporting procedures as appropriate.
- Record and report problems and solutions as appropriate.
- Navigate and access multiple computer applications as needed.
