Job Summary:
As a Phlebotomist II at Geisinger Health, you will be responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples from patients in various settings. This role requires strong communication skills to explain the blood drawing process and provide a comfortable experience for patients.
In this position, you will perform venipunctures and skin punctures on patients of all ages, following Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines. You will also be responsible for accessioning procedures, recognizing and resolving discrepancies, and evaluating specimen suitability and acceptability.
Additionally, you will navigate and access multiple computer applications as needed, follow established reporting procedures, and provide phlebotomy coverage as required to Medical Group offices, skilled nursing facilities, or perform in-home phlebotomy for homebound patients.
