**Job Title:** Medical Sample Collector
**Job Summary:** We are seeking a skilled Medical Sample Collector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients using venipunctures and skin punctures.
You will work independently to perform a wide range of tasks, including:
- Collecting blood samples from patients of all ages
- Interacting with patients and explaining the blood drawing process
- Providing excellent customer service
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood samples according to established guidelines
- Exhibit knowledge of adequate and correct collection requirements
- Perform accessioning procedures accurately to ensure positive identification of specimens
- Evaluate specimen suitability and acceptability
- Resolves discrepancies as appropriate
**Requirements:**
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 1 year related work experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
