A growing fast-casual restaurant concept in Long Beach, New Jersey is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee back of house operations and lead a high-performing culinary team. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment and is passionate about food quality, organization, cleanliness, and team development.
The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for maintaining efficient kitchen operations, ensuring consistency in food execution, and upholding the highest standards of safety and sanitation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily kitchen operations and food production
- Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain strong performance and teamwork
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and food cost controls
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Monitor prep levels and kitchen execution during high-volume service periods
- Assist with scheduling and labor management for back of house staff
- Work closely with ownership and management to improve kitchen efficiency and operations
- Help develop systems, procedures, and kitchen standards
Qualifications
- 2 years of kitchen management or leadership experience required
- Strong cooking skills and knowledge of kitchen operations
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with inventory, ordering, and food cost management
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure under pressure
