The Youth Workforce Coordinator plays a key role in advancing Geauga Growth Partnership’s youth workforce and career‑readiness initiatives that contribute to long‑term economic growth. This position works closely with public and private school districts across Geauga County, as well as the home‑school community, to support collaborative relationships that introduce, inspire, and prepare students—from 6th grade through high school and young adults up to age twenty‑four—for future career pathways.

The Coordinator supports coordination and delivery of programs and events that build career awareness, strengthen employability skills, and connect students with local business and industry opportunities, with a strong emphasis on supporting the workforce needs of Geauga County employers.

Essential Functions

  • Support relationship-building efforts with all Geauga County schools and home school community to ensure equitable access and opportunities for every student participating in GGP youth workforce programs
  • Coordinate and participate in annual school visits to assess program needs, strengthen relationships with school leadership, and identify opportunities for engagement and expand career readiness initiatives.
  • Assess youth workforce needs through surveys, site visits, and direct conversations with educators, students, and employers to support continuous improvement of program offerings.

 

Workforce and Career-Readiness:

  • Assist in coordinating an annual catalog of workforce and career‑readiness offerings—including Career Exploration Visits, Micro‑Credentials, Career Speakers Bureau opportunities, Pre‑Apprenticeships, and Internships—to support student skill development and exposure to local career pathways.
  • Support communication and coordination with training providers, business partners, and subject‑matter experts to expand and enhance GGP’s youth workforce and career‑readiness offerings.
  • Track program performance and participation data and prepare reports to support program planning.


Youth Engagement Experiences:

  • Collaborate with school districts to support planning, promote, and support youth workforce and career‑readiness programs that connect students with meaningful career exploration and skill‑building opportunities.
  • Coordinate logistics for student experiences, including scheduling, communication, materials, and on-site support.

 

Organizational Support:

  • Assist with business operational tasks, including membership data management, calendar maintenance, general office functions and purchasing activities as directed.

 

Relationship Development:

  • Support relationship-building efforts within the community, partner organizations.
  • Communicating and processing member and partner organization requests for information and action.

 

Other:

·      Attend and participate in Board Meetings as requested.

·      Handling other duties as assigned.

·      Completing a self-evaluation as part of the annual review process.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in youth-focused education or community engagement role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Comfortable communicating with students, educators, and business partners in a professional setting.
  • Ability to comply with school district policies when working with minors.

 

Other Duties

All GGP jobs require interaction with the Board of Trustees, GGP members and community and business leaders. This requires a high level of professionalism and integrity in all aspects of the job.
