Highway Worker I
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Highway Maintenance Worker to support the maintenance and repair of county roads, bridges, and infrastructure. This role involves hands-on labor, equipment operation, and critical snow and ice removal during winter weather.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform snow and ice control (plowing, salting, brine application)
- Operate dump trucks and heavy equipment
- Assist with traffic control and work zone safety
- Maintain and repair roads, bridges, guardrails, and drainage systems
- Perform tree removal, mowing, and general labor tasks
- Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
Skills & Requirements
- Experience operating heavy equipment and tools
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work extended and on-call hours, especially during winter events
